Stories of environmental action across Mid Devon

We are in the pilot phase of the Mid Devon Wildlife Warden Scheme. Four parishes have kindly agreed to be pilots of the scheme which we intend to roll out to all parishes in the Mid Devon District at the end of September. Here is some information on the inspiring work that volunteers having been doing across the Mid Devon district.

Hittisleigh - Keen to improve the quality of the soil in the parish, Hittisleigh have been learning about soil health and getting advice from experts in the field on how to assess the quality of the soil within the parish boundary.. 

Cheriton Bishop - Working on a variety of projects to improve wildlife across the parish.

Newton St Cyres - Using the already formed Environmental Wellbeing group as a starting point, Newton St Cyres are working on projects to transform the village green and to work with farmers to encourage good hedge management practice as well as setting up a community allotment.

Uffculme - Extending the Uffculme Green Team to the wider parish, core members of the group have worked to elevate the profile of the swifts at Coldharbour Mill and have created extensive survey reports on their findings within the parish.
